B. Vaibhav

I build open-source tools, win pitch competitions, and map the world with OpenStreetMap.

Passionate about solving real problems through code. I lead the FOSS Club at SAI University, contribute to the open-source ecosystem, and believe in building in public. Currently exploring ethical hacking, local AI models, and how OpenStreetMap is mapping the world.

About

I'm a first-year Computer Science student at SAI University, Chennai, and President of the FOSS Club. I'm passionate about free and open-source software because I believe technology should be transparent, community-driven, and accessible. Through the FOSS Club, I'm building a community of developers who care about collaborative problem-solving and contributing to projects that matter.

Beyond FOSS, I'm deeply interested in ethical hacking, OSINT, and understanding how systems work. I run local AI models on my RTX 3060 setup, exploring fine-tuning with Unsloth and building workflows with n8n. I'm also an active OpenStreetMap contributor—mapping the world fascinates me. I'm a merit scholarship holder with a 8.94 GPA in my first semester, and I spend my time building practical tools, not chasing frameworks.

When I'm not coding, I play Throwball and Table Tennis, and I write reflective prose that connects technology, systems thinking, and everyday life. I believe in learning by building, shipping early, and sharing knowledge with others.

Projects

Hive LMS/ERP

Flask SQLAlchemy Jinja2 Multi-tenant

A comprehensive university ERP system addressing the fragmentation of campus management tools. Hive provides six distinct user roles (Admin, Faculty, Student, Department Head, Finance, Placement) within a single multi-tenant architecture using subdomain-based tenancy. Each university gets isolated data while sharing infrastructure. Key challenges: designing role-based access control, building complex workflow systems, and ensuring data isolation at scale.

Status: Active Development Type: Open Source / FOSS Role: Founder & Lead Developer

Submitted to FOSS Hack 2026. Intended for universities looking for open-source alternatives to costly proprietary ERP systems.

CredScore

Marketplace Pitch Deck Financials

A performance-based marketplace connecting academic excellence with economic opportunity. CredScore tokenizes student performance metrics into verifiable credentials, creating a transparent pathway for employers and educational institutions to identify talent. The problem: traditional GPAs don't capture skills or project work. The solution: a marketplace where achievements have real value. Built comprehensive financial projections, customer acquisition strategies, and a go-to-market plan.

Status: MVP Complete Type: Student Startup Role: Founder & Business Lead

1st Place at Sharp Tank (moSAIc 2026) after pitching through 3 competitive rounds.

Jarvis n8n Workflow

n8n Telegram Groq LLM SerpAPI

An intelligent automation workflow combining local and cloud AI with web search. Jarvis listens on Telegram, processes queries through Groq's fast LLM inference, searches the web via SerpAPI for current information, and delivers results via Gmail. Demonstrates the power of orchestrating AI models and APIs without writing backend code. Key learning: building resilient workflows that gracefully handle API failures and rate limits.

Status: Production Type: Automation / AI Role: Architect & Developer

Personal productivity tool exploring the intersection of local AI, real-time search, and async notifications.

GitHub

Pine Script EMA Indicator

Pine Script v6 EMA 13/21 Technical Analysis

A sophisticated technical trading indicator built in Pine Script v6 for TradingView. Implements exponential moving average crossover signals (13/21) combined with proprietary pattern detection (FGC, FRC, TCG, TCR patterns) to identify high-probability entry and exit points. Demonstrates deep understanding of market microstructure, indicator design, and the nuances of programmatic trading logic.

Status: Active Trading Type: Fintech / Trading Tool Role: Researcher & Developer

Personal trading tool built to understand market dynamics and algorithmic decision-making in financial systems.

Events & Achievements

1st Place — Sharp Tank Pitch Competition

moSAIc 2026

Won first place for CredScore after three competitive pitch rounds, defeating dozens of teams. Demonstrated the ability to articulate complex business models, financial viability, and market opportunity under pressure. This validated not just the idea, but my ability to think like a founder.

FOSS Hack 2026 — Round 1 Qualifier

Hive LMS/ERP

Selected among hundreds of entries for showcasing Hive at India's largest open-source hackathon. Signifies strong product vision and technical execution in the FOSS community.

Organized — Ctrl C + Ctrl V Hackathon

SAI University

Conceived and led a university-wide hackathon from zero to 100+ participants. Taught me that community building and event management are as important as technical skills. Created an inclusive space for students to learn and build together.

Organized — Hack'R'Rank

FOSS Club Initiative

Another hackathon under FOSS Club leadership, demonstrating commitment to fostering coding culture and collaborative problem-solving at campus level.

Merit Scholarship + 8.94 GPA

Semester 1

Academic recognition alongside active projects and leadership roles. Proves that shipping real products and excelling in studies aren't mutually exclusive.

Volunteer — WE Together (ICC/WEC)

Social Impact

Gave back to the community through volunteering, recognizing that technology should serve society beyond profit.

Building in Public

I prefer open source over closed ecosystems because transparency builds trust, and collaboration accelerates innovation. I believe the best way to learn is by building real tools that solve actual problems—not just tutorials or toy projects.

This portfolio reflects my philosophy: shipping early, sharing knowledge with others, and using technology as a force for good rather than profit. Long-term projects matter more than quick trends; community over competition; open collaboration over proprietary solutions.

Contact

Always open to collaborating on open-source projects, student initiatives, mapping efforts, and interesting technical ideas.
